LAHORE: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and the Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) allows PSDF to teach young people nationwide on behalf of NAVTTC.
Thanks to the MOU, PSDF’s reach has grown throughout the nation, having previously only reached Punjab.
To enable young people with local expertise to readily enter the global market, cooperative efforts will be undertaken to provide digital training and certificates. In addition to the tracer studies and effect evaluations of the skills training programs, both organizations undertook to carry out sector studies and training needs analyses for the purpose of creating demand both locally and internationally.

The two organizations will work together to provide the nation’s young with skill training in the IT, hospitality, and construction sectors. The goal of this training is to have at least thirty percent of the graduates find jobs. 16 districts in the nation—Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Rhaim Yar Khan, Karachi, Hyderabad, Sakhar, Peshawar, Nowshera, Abbottabad, Queta, Gilgit, and Muzaffarabad—would host the training sessions.
Additionally, the two organizations have decided to work together on TVET sector development and curriculum upgrades.

COO PSDF Ali Akbar Bosan, who spoke at the event, emphasized the importance of learning international techniques and raising local TVET curricula to meet international standards. “Bridging the gap between the local and international curriculum is necessary so the country produces skilled labor in accordance with the international demand,” he stated, adding that Pakistani workers would be more competitive in the global market as a result.
Gulmina Bilal Ahmad, the NAVTCC Chairperson, suggested declaring a youth emergency. Targeted actions must be taken to cease failing the youth and turn them into valuable members of society. She emphasized that greater attention must be paid to Balochistan in order to produce an increasing amount of training there.

Dr. Ijaz Nabi, a board member of PSDF, noted that the organization is now working toward its objective of establishing a skill development institution with the signing of the MOU with NAVTTC. In addition to government support, he recommended further expansion of the PSDF throughout the nation and industry.
