The human body has strong bones in the legs that bear the weight of the whole body.
It seems impossible to break a leg bone from just coughing, but in China, a person has broken a leg bone because of coughing, and the doctor was surprised.
According to a foreign news agency, the incident happened in China, and doctors from the Second People’s Hospital of Fujian Province were informed about the unusual incident.
Mr. Yi, a 35-year-old man from China, suffered a leg fracture while coughing. Dong Zhong, director of the hospital’s orthopedics department, described the incident as “unusual and shocking” and said the victim’s age could not weaken bones to such an extent.
According to media reports, Mr. Yi told the doctor that he felt severe pain immediately after coughing, but dismissed it as temporary pain.
Not long after he started walking, he felt severe pain in his leg and called the doctor. After several tests, it was found that he had a broken bone.
The doctor confirmed that Mr. Yi did not suffer from bone disease in the past, but his bones were weakened by habits such as excessive drinking of cold drinks, poor diet and lack of exercise.
The aforementioned Chinese citizen admits to using cold drinks instead of water every day. The 35-year-old admits that she usually uses soft drinks instead of water.
According to doctors, soft drinks prevent calcium from being properly absorbed by the body, thus affecting bone health.
