The Trade Ministry said Jam Kamal had written to Kenyan Trade Ministry officials explaining that the delay was due to the current situation in the Red Sea. The cargo must be diverted due to the situation in the Red Sea causing delays.
The Kenyan government released 1,300 containers at zero duty, according to the Ministry of Trade. In addition, the Kenyan government has enjoyed zero tariffs on Pakistani rice until November 30, 2024.
