Riyadh: Due to the intense heat in Saudi Arabia, the duration of Friday prayers, sermons and prayers at Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi has been significantly shortened to protect the life of the congregation.
According to Arab media, the interval between the first and second prayers (Island) for Friday prayers today will also be reduced to 10 minutes, according to the instructions of the Custodian of the Holy Mosque, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais.
Today’s Friday sermon and prayer will last only 15 minutes instead of the usual 30-55 minutes, and the prayer will also be shortened.
It should be noted that the change in the duration of prayers and sermons will continue from the last day of Anna until the end of summer.
The reason for this change is that it is very hot in Mecca and Medina and there are many pilgrims in Masjidil Haram and Masjid Nabawi on Fridays.
Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais said that human life is the most important. He said the pilgrims stood under the scorching sun and intense heat on Friday.
He also said that they do not want to leave any stone unturned in receiving God’s guests and reducing the duration of prayer is to make it easier to worship and not suffer in the heat.
In the United Arab Emirates, the duration of prayer and prayer is reduced to 10 minutes.
