Funeral prayers were offered for the soldiers who were martyred in an IED blast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan Army, funeral prayers of Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas, Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir and Lance Naik Muhammad Anwar were offered in Bannu.
Funeral prayers were also offered for Lance Naik Hussain Ali, Sepoy Asadullah, Sepoy Manzoor Hussain and Sepoy Rashid Mahmood.
The body of Captain Faraz Ilyas was later taken to his hometown Chunyan, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal ministers, military officials, Army Chief Peshawar, serving officers, soldiers and a large number of civilians attended the funeral prayers.
The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the martyrs and buried the coffin of Captain Faraz Ilyas. Shehbaz Sharif met the family of Captain Faraz Ilyas and said that martyrdom is a status given to those chosen by God. He assures the captain that Faraz’s blood will not go in vain and refers to Gurkhan saying that the martyr is alive. He said that he will destroy the enemies of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister also announced that the village of Captain Faraz Ilyas will be named as a martyr.
The bodies of the officers and other soldiers who were killed in the attack were sent to their places of origin and buried there with military honors.
According to the ISPR, Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and the sacrifices of the brave martyrs strengthen their resolve.
Yesterday, an IED blast targeted a security forces vehicle in Lakki Marwat, killing seven soldiers along with an army captain.
