Questions have been raised about the performance of young wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan in the T20 World Cup and his performance after the match against England.
In the final match of the series against England, Azam Khan was bowled five times while batting but failed to score wickets, then caught straight while taking a wicket.
During the controversy, the wicketkeeper-batsman failed to understand England fast bowler Mark Wood’s moment which went viral on social media.
England beat Pakistan by seven wickets. In this match, the national team collapsed, managing only 157 runs in 19.5 overs.
Criticism of Azam Khan’s poor performance in the match targeted the selectors, saying he was “only included in the team because he is Moin Khan’s son”.
“No team in the world will play until Azam Khan improves his fitness,” said one critic.
