London: The world’s first Sikh religious court was established in London.
According to media reports, the Sikh religious court will consist of 30 judges and 15 judges and will pass judgments based on religious principles and customs.
Sikh Court Spokesperson Baldeep Singh said that family disputes and divorce cases involving Sikh women and children will now be handled more effectively.
Southall Black Sisters founder Pragna Patel said the creation of a Sikh court would lead to religious fundamentalism.
It should be known that Jewish religious courts, Islamic Sharia councils and Muslim conciliation tribunals also operate in England.
