California: Video streaming platform YouTube has implemented a crackdown on users who use ad blockers.
Internet users often use ad blockers to avoid ads on YouTube videos. For the past few months, YouTube has been warning users who use ad blockers.
Users and ad blockers on social media platform Reddit have reported unusual incidents while using YouTube. Users noted that when watching a video with an active ad blocker, the sound would be muted or muted as soon as the video started.
Users on the platform wrote that whenever they use an ad blocker on YouTube, there is no sound in their videos. The sound comes on for a second with the slider, but then goes off again.
Another user said that if they try to play a video with an ad blocker, the sound works for the first second and then goes silent.
Last month, YouTube announced that the company would replace third-party apps that block ads on the platform.
