Abbottabad (Asif Mehmood Awan) — The Sub-Divisional Officer of the C&W Highway Division Abbottabad has formally requested Police Station Bagnotar to register an FIR against an SNGPL contractor accused of carrying out excavation work without obtaining the required No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Illegal excavation reported by field staff

According to the official letter, field staff reported that the SNGPL contractor conducted unauthorized digging on Kurlan Bagh Road to lay a gas pipeline. The department clarified that no NOC had been issued for this activity. The letter further states that the excavation caused significant damage to the road, resulting in a clear financial loss to the government.

Request to halt digging and initiate legal action

The Sub-Divisional Officer has requested the SHO of Police Station Bagnotar to immediately stop the ongoing excavation and register an FIR against the SNGPL contractor for violating departmental regulations.

Matter escalated to senior authorities

A copy of the letter has also been forwarded to the District Police Officer Abbottabad and the Executive Engineer of the Highway Division Abbottabad for information and necessary action.

Public demands stricter enforcement

Local residents have called on authorities to take strict action against individuals or companies responsible for damaging public roads, emphasizing the need to prevent similar violations in the future.
