ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has received an official invitation to join a proposed international Peace Board on Gaza, the country’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday, as global efforts continue to seek an end to the conflict and address post-war governance and reconstruction in the Palestinian territory.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the invitation was extended by the United States president as part of discussions on a broader Gaza peace framework, which includes diplomatic, administrative and humanitarian mechanisms aimed at stabilising the territory following a ceasefire.

The spokesperson confirmed that Pakistan’s prime minister has received the invitation, adding that any decision on participation would be taken through consultations with the country’s political leadership and parliament, in line with national interests.
Pakistan, a long-time supporter of the Palestinian cause, reiterated its position calling for an immediate ceasefire, protection of civilians and unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza.
Islamabad continues to advocate for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state, in accordance with United Nations resolutions, the foreign ministry said.
Officials said Pakistan would remain engaged with international efforts aimed at restoring peace and security in Gaza and achieving a lasting political settlement.
