The 26th death anniversary of renowned national, political, and social figure Al-Haj Zar Ali Khan (late) was observed with devotion and respect in Pabbi on Sunday.
On the occasion, a Quran recitation was held at his mausoleum, floral wreaths were laid, charity was distributed among the poor and needy, and a special prayer ceremony was organized at Zar Bagh, Pabbi.
According to details, Al-Haj Zar Ali Khan (late) was the father of former Provincial President of Pakistan Peoples Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, former Member of the National Assembly, and Senator, Sardar Ali Khan. He was widely known as a distinguished national and political leader, a prominent social figure, former Chairman of Town Committee Pabbi, and a respected transporter, landlord, and businessman.
Senator Sardar Ali Khan, along with his brothers Shaukat Ali Khan and Dr. Mushtaq Ali Khan, grandsons Shehzad Ali Khan, Salman Ali Khan, and Babar Ali Khan, and other notable figures including President Tehsil Press Club Pabbi Muhammad Ilyas, Hilal Anwar, Aakash Anwar, Malik Arshad, and Pir Nasir, laid floral wreaths on the graves of Al-Haj Zar Ali Khan, his wife, and his mother.
Students of the madrassa at Jamia Masjid Sheikh Azam Baba completed the recitation of the Holy Quran, while the mosque’s khateeb, Qari Aftab Alam, offered special prayers for the forgiveness and elevation of ranks of the departed souls, including Al-Haj Zar Ali Khan (late), his wife, and the wife of Senator Sardar Ali Khan.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Sardar Ali Khan paid rich tribute to his father’s services to the country and nation, highlighting his political wisdom, social contributions, and pro-labour approach. He prayed that Allah Almighty may grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous.
