MARDAN: The Deputy Commissioner of Mardan visited Bacha Khan Dental College (BKDC) and Bacha Khan Medical College (BKMC) to review healthcare delivery services and academic standards at the institutions, officials said.
During the visit, he was accompanied by BKMC Dean Prof Dr Jawad Ahmad and BKDC Dean Prof Dr Munir Khan, who briefed him on the operational structure and performance of both institutions under the Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Mardan.
While touring various clinical departments at BKDC, the deputy commissioner observed a high volume of patients receiving specialised dental treatment. He appreciated the capacity of the clinical staff to manage a large influx of patients while maintaining service quality, noting that the hospital plays a significant role in supporting oral healthcare needs in the region.
The visit also included an inspection of BKMC and the 1,000-kanal land allocated for MTI Mardan. The deputy commissioner reviewed academic facilities and ongoing student research projects, highlighting the structured academic environment and research-focused approach at the college.
In his concluding remarks, the deputy commissioner expressed satisfaction over the professional standards and overall progress of both institutions. He assured the management of MTI Mardan of continued administrative support to facilitate further development and strengthen healthcare and medical education services in the district.
