SWAT — The Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Pakistan, Wolfgang Oliver Kutscher, visited Swat on Friday and met with Commissioner Malakand Division Masood Ahmed and Regional Police Officer Malakand Syed Fida Hassan Shah at the Commissioner’s Office in Saidu Sharif.
Members of the Austrian Embassy’s consulate and Advocate Sardar Waqar Shahzad were also present during the meeting.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing cultural exchanges and exploring cooperation in the tourism sector.
Tourism and heritage highlighted
Commissioner Masood Ahmed briefed the ambassador on Malakand Division’s historical and cultural heritage, archaeological sites, scenic tourist destinations and overall law-and-order situation.
The ambassador expressed interest in the region’s tourism potential and emphasized the importance of expanding tourism collaboration, cultural exchange initiatives and economic engagement in the future.
Officials described the meeting as part of broader diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting international partnerships and highlighting Swat’s tourism prospects on the global stage.
