RAWALPINDI: The military on Wednesday said security forces killed 10 militants during a follow-up operation in Zhob district of Balochistan, a day after eight suspects were neutralised in an intelligence-based raid in the same area.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said troops carried out an area sanitisation operation on February 25 to trace militants believed to be hiding along multiple routes in the district.
According to the statement, security forces engaged the suspects during coordinated search activities, leading to a gun battle in which 10 militants were killed. Arms, ammunition and explosives were also seized during the operation.
The military said the suspects were linked to militant activity in the region. It added that further search operations are underway to eliminate any remaining threats.
Security officials reaffirmed that ongoing counterterrorism operations across the country would continue under the National Action Plan to address security challenges and maintain stability.
