Siraj-ul-Haq calls for unity among Muslim countries amid global tensions

SWAT, Mar 12: Siraj-ul-Haq, former chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, has called for greater unity among Muslim countries, saying the Muslim world should act collectively in response to current global tensions involving the United States and Israel.

Addressing a large Iftar gathering organised by Jamaat-e-Islami in Kabal Tehsil of Swat District, Siraj-ul-Haq said Muslim nations need to strengthen cooperation and solidarity in what he described as challenging circumstances for the Muslim world.

He said scholars and religious leaders should move beyond sectarian divisions and work toward greater unity within the global Muslim community. According to him, stronger cooperation among Muslim countries could help address political and humanitarian challenges faced by Muslims in different regions.

Siraj-ul-Haq also criticised the policies of several Muslim governments, alleging that some countries continue to follow Western political influence rather than pursuing independent policies.

During his address, he referred to ongoing conflicts in Iran and Palestine, saying the situation requires collective response and solidarity from Muslim countries.

He said Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan would work to promote unity among religious and political groups and plans to organise activities after Eid aimed at mobilising public opinion on international issues affecting the Muslim world.

Siraj-ul-Haq also urged Pakistan’s leadership to review its foreign policy priorities and play a role in strengthening cooperation among Muslim countries.

District Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Swat Hameed-ul-Haq and Tehsil Ameer Hafiz Israr also addressed the gathering.
