Lower Dir: Mufti Asad Mahmood, a senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), has criticised both federal and provincial governments, accusing them of failing to address public issues, particularly in education and governance.
Speaking at a conference in Talash, Lower Dir, he said millions of children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remain out of school due to a lack of educational facilities, while religious seminaries continue to face difficulties in registration despite meeting legal requirements.

He also raised concerns over the law and order situation in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that loss of lives continues while authorities remain inactive. He alleged that the provincial government is focused on political matters instead of resolving public problems.
Concerns over governance and economy
Mufti Asad Mahmood criticised the lack of financial and administrative powers for local government institutions, saying it has weakened grassroots governance. He also pointed to rising debt, increasing poverty and reported corruption cases as major challenges facing the province.
He said his party has opposed legislative changes it considers inappropriate and remains committed to protecting the interests of religious institutions.
