ISLAMABAD: Newly elected President of the Islamabad Industrial Association, Umais Khattak, has pledged to address challenges faced by the industrial sector and work towards its development, following his election to office.
He expressed gratitude to the business community for their confidence, stating that resolving issues in the industrial area and promoting growth would remain his key priorities.
The oath-taking ceremony of the association’s newly elected office-bearers was attended by President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Atif Ikram Sheikh, who administered the oath as chief guest.
Prominent members of the business community, including Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Tourism Sardar Yasir Ilyas, also attended the event. The FPCCI president congratulated Umais Khattak, Senior Vice President Aamir Hussain, Vice President Mian Arif Hussain and the executive body, assuring full support from the federation.
Highlighting the challenges faced by Pakistan’s industrial sector, Atif Ikram Sheikh stressed the need for policy measures, including lower interest rates, to support industrial revival. He said the federation is working with the government to address key issues and strengthen the sector.
President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sardar Tahir Mahmood, also congratulated the newly elected team and said the chamber would work closely with the association for the development of Islamabad’s industrial landscape.
