Peshawar: Hazara defeated Peshawar All Stars by seven wickets to win the title of Zalmi Women’s Cricket League Season Two.
The tournament was organized by Peshawar Zalmi and the Zalmi Foundation in collaboration with Ufone 4G, UN Women, and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Low-scoring final sees Hazara chase target with ease
In the final played at the Hayatabad Sports Complex, Peshawar batted first and scored 59 runs for the loss of three wickets.
Hazara successfully chased the target, losing only three wickets.
Mahnoor Qayoom was the top performer for Hazara, scoring 28 runs.
Prominent guests attend the closing ceremony
Zalmi superstar Mohammad Haris, Pakistan Test cricketer Sajid Khan, UN Women Deputy Country Representative Jacqui Ketunuti, UNFPA Country Representative Dr. Luay Shabaneh, Secretary Sports Tashfeen, Secretary Education Kamran Afridi, UN Pakistan officials, and COO Peshawar Zalmi Mian Abbas Laeeq were present at the final match of Zalmi Women’s Cricket League.
Semifinals set the stage for the final showdown
In the first semifinal, Hazara Daffodils defeated Peshawar Thunder Bolts by 23 runs after scoring 77 without loss.
Peshawar could only manage 54 runs for three wickets.
In the second semifinal, Peshawar All Stars beat Malakand to reach the final.
Zalmi Women’s Cricket League aims to boost women’s cricket development
This year’s edition—continuing the vision of “From Dream to Reality”—is expected to play a significant role in promoting women’s cricket.
Ufone 4G, UN Women, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Higher Education Department KP, and DG Sports KP supported the event, reflecting a shared commitment to empowering women and creating opportunities for young players in professional sports.
