ISLAMABAD, May 18: The Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences concluded its Open House and Career Fair 2026 in Islamabad, bringing together young innovators, industry representatives and academic experts on a platform focused on research, career growth and practical innovation.
Held under the auspices of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, the event connected final-year students with national and international companies, offering opportunities for professional networking, career guidance, internships, training and future employment.
Students from engineering and scientific disciplines presented projects focused on emerging technologies, applied research, industrial solutions and creative problem-solving. Organisers said the projects reflected the technical depth and practical relevance of work being carried out at the institute.
Industry representatives appreciated the quality of the projects and the fair’s role in strengthening links between academia and the professional sector.
Platform for innovation and careers
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem.
In her welcome address, PIEAS Rector Dr Anila Usman said young engineers and scientists were vital to Pakistan’s future. She said the Open House and Career Fair reflected the talent, hard work and innovative thinking of students.
Dr Anila Usman said PIEAS remained committed to preparing young people for national progress through modern education, research and technology.
She added that such initiatives were important for building sustainable collaboration between educational institutions and industry.
