Taxila: One person was killed and two others seriously injured in a traffic accident on GT Road near Kohistan Enclave in Taxila on Sunday when a trailer collided with a motorcycle, police and rescue officials said.
The accident occurred near Swedish College, where a 22-wheeler trailer struck a motorcycle carrying three young men. All three victims belonged to Amir Khan village in Fateh Jang and were employed at a service shoe shop.
As a result of the collision, Aliyan (23) died at the scene, while Waqas (27) and Hamza (24) sustained serious injuries.
Rescue teams from Rescue 1122 reached the spot soon after the incident, provided first aid, and shifted the injured to Wah General Hospital for medical treatment.
Police officials also arrived at the scene, took the trailer driver into custody, and impounded the vehicle. An investigation into the incident is underway.
Local residents expressed concern over frequent traffic accidents on GT Road, describing the situation as increasingly dangerous. They urged the authorities to formulate and enforce a comprehensive traffic management policy to prevent recurring accidents and ensure public safety.
