WSSCM board approves audit report for fiscal year 2023–24

MARDAN — The Board of Directors of the Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) has approved the company’s audit report for the fiscal year 2023–24 during its Annual General Meeting, reviewing the organization’s financial performance and operational progress over the past year.

The meeting, chaired by Board Chairman Engineer Adil Nawaz, brought together board members and government representatives to assess the company’s financial transparency, service delivery, and future development plans for water and sanitation services in Mardan.

Annual meeting reviews financial performance

According to officials, the audit report presented during the meeting outlined WSSCM’s financial management, transparency mechanisms, and key operational achievements for the year. Board members formally endorsed the report following a review of the company’s accounts and administrative performance.

Participants included board members Haroon Rashid, Javed Hussain, and Mubina Raziuddin, along with WSSCM Chief Executive Officer Shahid Khan, Regional Municipal Officer Zeeshan Arif, and Additional Assistant Commissioner Hania Shah. Deputy Secretary Local Government Ahmad Zahir and Deputy Secretary of the Finance Department Akhlaq Ahmad joined the session via video link.

Focus on governance and service improvements

During the meeting, Chairman Engineer Adil Nawaz acknowledged the efforts of WSSCM staff in maintaining financial discipline and ensuring the delivery of municipal services.

He highlighted the importance of accountability, sustainability, and continuous operational improvement in strengthening public service institutions.

Board members also discussed future strategies, infrastructure development, and initiatives aimed at improving water supply and sanitation services for residents of Mardan. Officials said the board reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening governance and enhancing the company’s operational capacity.
