UPPER DIR: Social and political activist Asghar Ali has expressed deep concern over the worsening condition of connecting roads alongside the main highway in Dir city and surrounding areas, stating that no one seems concerned about the situation. Asghar Ali has said to local media “As a member of the Youth Parliament and President of Dir City People’s Party Youth Wing, I have always tried to play an active role to raise voice for resolving key issues faced by the public whether related to health, education, or infrastructure.

He pointed out that the condition of the main Dir-Lowari road near Pardaou Bridge has severely deteriorated, presenting a scene of ruins. He added that several connecting roads have become impassable for traffic. Additionally, sanitation conditions in local markets and nearby areas are also in a deplorable state.

Asghar Ali urged the district administration, Members of the Assembly, and NHA authorities to take immediate notice of the situation, “The condition of these roads is becoming increasingly unbearable and shameful day by day. Unfortunately, local political leadership seems to have shut its eyes to this crisis.

He further highlighted that during rainy seasons, pedestrians face extreme hardship while walking on these crumbling roads often getting their clothes soaked and dirty, making it difficult even to perform prayers. Asghar Ali appealed to NHA officials, local MPAs, and the district adminstration “For God’s sake, show mercy on public suffering! Take immediate action especially to repair these ruined roads and start work without any delay.
