Islamabad Model College for Girls Tarlai has launched its two-week Summer School & Fiesta 2026, with 1,650 students from the Nilore sector enrolling in 12 courses aimed at building academic, creative and practical skills.
The initiative, held at IMCG Tarlai in Islamabad, is part of the Summer Schools and Fiesta programme launched by the Federal Directorate of Education under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. Organisers said the programme is designed to provide students with productive learning opportunities during the summer break.
The event was inaugurated by Area Education Officer Nilore Sector Dr Khalid Mahmood, who attended the opening ceremony as chief guest. Principal IMCG Tarlai Mrs Kausar Parveen welcomed the guests and joined Dr Mahmood in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally open the programme.
Principals from different educational institutions of the Nilore sector also attended the ceremony. Mrs Kausar Parveen thanked them for their presence and support for co-curricular learning and student development.
IMCG Tarlai Offers 12 Skill-Based Courses
According to the college administration, IMCG Tarlai is offering 12 courses during the two-week programme, the highest number offered by any institution in the capital under the initiative.
The courses focus on communication, digital skills, creative arts, religious learning and practical training. They include Spoken English, Sketching and Canvas Painting, Canva and Digital Marketing, Culinary Arts, Crochet Work, Creative Mehndi Art, Hand Embroidery, Calligraphy, Qirat and Tajweed.
The Spoken English course received the highest enrollment, with 700 students joining the programme. The course was designed by Vice Principal and Fiesta Supervisor Mrs Saima Shaheen, reflecting strong student interest in communication and language skills.

Officials Say Programme Supports Student Confidence
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Khalid Mahmood appreciated IMCG Tarlai for organising a broad summer learning programme for students. He said such initiatives help students develop confidence, improve their abilities and prepare for future academic and professional challenges.
Principal Mrs Kausar Parveen said the Summer School & Fiesta reflects the college’s commitment to learning beyond the classroom. She said the programme aims to empower students through creative expression, practical exposure and skill development.

During the two-week programme, students will take part in workshops, interactive sessions and practical activities. The college administration said the initiative is expected to provide participants with a productive summer experience while encouraging learning, creativity and personal growth.
The inauguration ceremony ended with a visit to different activity areas, where students shared their interests and demonstrated enthusiasm for the courses.
