Rawalpindi, January 15, 2026 — Pakistan’s security forces have killed 13 militants affiliated with the Indian-backed group Fitna Al Khwarij during two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operations were conducted on January 13 and 14, 2026, after security agencies received actionable intelligence about militant presence in the Bannu and Kurram districts.
In the first operation, troops carried out a targeted raid in Bannu District, where they engaged a militant hideout. Following a fierce exchange of fire, eight militants were eliminated, ISPR said.
In a separate engagement in Kurram District, security forces launched another intelligence-driven operation. During the ensuing firefight, five militants were neutralised, bringing the total number of militants killed in the two operations to thirteen.
ISPR stated that sanitisation and clearance operations are ongoing in both districts to ensure that no remaining militants are present in the area. The military reiterated its resolve to continue an uncompromising counterterrorism drive under the national security framework “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
The statement emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, will persist with full-scale operations to eradicate the threat of foreign-sponsored terrorism and safeguard peace and stability across the country.
