Beaconhouse convention in Kuala Lumpur marks 10 years of global student engagement

KUALA LUMPUR — The Beaconhouse International Student Convention (BISC) convened in Malaysia this month, bringing together students from six countries for academic exchange and competitive events.

Participants from Beaconhouse schools in Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Thailand, the Philippines, and the UAE met in Kuala Lumpur for the two-day convention centered on the theme “Global Connections for Common Goals.”

The program included activities across Sports, Creative, Knowledge, and Gaming categories, encouraging teamwork across national and disciplinary lines. Conversations during the event focused on global issues such as environmental responsibility and digital inclusion.

Entrepreneurial collaboration across borders

SparkTank@BISC served as a key feature of the convention, enabling students to form multinational teams and develop entrepreneurial ventures. Preparatory mentoring sessions were conducted before the event, allowing participants to refine their concepts prior to in-person presentations.

The introduction of debating further expanded the academic scope of the convention, adding structured dialogue to the program.

Competitive highlights

Pakistan secured the overall championship title for 2026, followed by Malaysia as runner-up. The Philippines earned the BISC Icon distinction for the third consecutive year.

In aquatic competitions, multiple swimming records were set, reflecting strong preparation by student athletes.

Organizers noted that the tenth edition of BISC underscores the network’s commitment to international collaboration and student development across its global campuses.
