TIMARGARA, Feb 27: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority in Lower Dir conducted inspections of multiple shops in Haji Abad and Shahi Koto under the supervision of the district administration.
The operations were carried out in line with directives issued by Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir Muhammad Arif Khan, officials said. The inspections focused on ensuring compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
According to the authorities, the food safety team examined chicken shops, meat outlets, general stores and other food businesses. Instructional notices were issued to several shopkeepers to improve cleanliness and maintain proper hygiene conditions.
Officials said the e-licensing system was also used during the drive to verify compliance with food safety regulations and to strengthen monitoring mechanisms. The inspections were part of ongoing efforts to ensure the availability of safe and quality food items for the public.
