HASSAN ABDAL: The Tehsil Administration Hassan Abdal has established a Ramzan Dastarkhwan to provide free Iftar meals to hundreds of fasting individuals each day, including commuters, daily wage earners and low-income families.
The initiative is being carried out under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Ahsan Ali, with the stated aim of ensuring that people in the city have access to a proper meal at sunset during the holy month.
Each evening before Iftar, attendees gather at the designated site where meals are distributed in an organized manner. Officials said arrangements have been made to maintain cleanliness and manage crowds effectively.
According to the administration, the facility is intended to support vulnerable groups and travelers passing through the historic city during Ramzan. Volunteers and staff members are overseeing food preparation and distribution to ensure timely service.
Several participants said the initiative has eased financial pressures during the month. Daily wage earners and commuters described the Dastarkhwan as a helpful support system for those unable to afford regular Iftar meals.
Residents said the programme reflects community cooperation and public service during Ramzan. The Tehsil Administration stated that the Dastarkhwan will continue throughout the holy month.
