RAWALPINDI: Security forces carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in Panjgur district of Balochistan, killing four terrorists linked to an Indian-sponsored group during an exchange of fire, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
Intelligence-Based Operation Conducted in Panjgur
According to ISPR, the operation was conducted on December 26, 2025, after reports of the presence of terrorists belonging to Fitna al Khwarij, an Indian proxy group, in the area. Security forces effectively engaged the identified location, leading to a fierce gun battle.
As a result of the operation, all four terrorists were neutralized.
Weapons and Explosives Recovered
ISPR said weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the terrorists, who had remained actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region. The recovery, officials said, would help disrupt further planned attacks and weaken militant networks operating in the area.
Sanitisation Operations Underway
Security forces have launched sanitisation operations in and around Panjgur to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the vicinity. Authorities said the area would continue to be cleared to ensure lasting security and stability.
Counterterrorism Drive to Continue Under Azm-e-Istehkam
ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to their relentless counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. The campaign aims to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
