Bangladesh Air Force Chief Visits Pakistan’s National Defence University

Islamabad: Chief of the Air Staff of the Bangladesh Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, paid a visit to the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad, on Thursday, highlighting the growing emphasis on defence education and professional military cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The visiting air chief, who is an alumnus of the National Security and War Course (2010–11), met Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar, HI (M), President of NDU, at the university.

Emphasis on Defence Education and Training

During the interaction, both sides underscored the importance of sustained military-to-military engagement, particularly in the areas of professional military education, joint training programs, and strategic learning exchanges. The discussions reflected a shared understanding of the role defence institutions play in preparing future military leadership.

Strengthening Bilateral Defence Engagement

The visit reaffirmed the longstanding historical relationship between Pakistan and Bangladesh and demonstrated a mutual commitment to expanding cooperation in defence training and institutional linkages. Officials noted that such engagements help enhance professional collaboration and promote regional security through dialogue and education.
