Security Forces Neutralise 11 Militants in Separate KP Operations: ISPR

Security Forces conduct Bajaur operation, kill five Indian-sponsored Khwarij as officer embraces shahadat

Rawalpindi, January 10, 2026 — Pakistan’s security forces have killed 11 militants in two separate intelligence-based operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to the military’s media wing, the operations were conducted on January 8 after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants linked to what ISPR described as an Indian-backed group operating in the province.

In North Waziristan district, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation targeting a militant hideout. Troops engaged the location during a fierce exchange of fire, resulting in the killing of six militants, ISPR said.

A second joint operation involving police and security forces was conducted in Kurram district, where five militants were neutralised during a firefight, the statement added.

ISPR said arms and ammunition were recovered from the militants, who were allegedly involved in attacks on security forces, law enforcement personnel, and civilians.

The military said follow-up sanitisation operations are underway to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining militants. It reaffirmed that Pakistan’s counterterrorism drive under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework, approved under the National Action Plan, will continue nationwide.
