ISLAMABAD: Ships of the Pakistan Navy and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency have visited Muscat’s Port Sultan Qaboos during an overseas deployment aimed at enhancing bilateral maritime cooperation, according to a Navy statement.

The flotilla comprised PNS Rah Naward, PNS Madadgar, and PMSA ship PMSS Kashmir. Omani authorities welcomed the ships on arrival, marking another chapter in regular naval engagements between the two maritime neighbours.

Mission Commander Commodore Amir Iqbal, along with commanding officers, met senior leadership of the Royal Navy of Oman. The meetings covered operational cooperation, navy-to-navy engagement, and shared maritime security challenges.

Royal Navy of Oman officers and midshipmen toured the visiting ships and held professional discussions with Pakistan Navy personnel. The vessels were also opened to the public, allowing members of the Pakistani community and students from the Pakistan School in Muscat to visit onboard.

Following the port call, a passage exercise was conducted at sea between Pakistan Navy, PMSA ships, and Royal Navy of Oman ship Khasab to enhance coordination and interoperability.

The Navy said such engagements, including port visits and joint exercises, are a regular feature of Pakistan–Oman relations and contribute to regional maritime stability.
