Chief of the Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu met Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, at Air Headquarters in Islamabad on February 2, 2026, as both sides reviewed bilateral defence ties and regional security issues.
Officials said the talks focused on enhancing cooperation between the Pakistan Air Force and the Libyan Armed Forces, with emphasis on training, operational collaboration, and future defence engagement.
During the meeting, the air chief outlined Pakistan Air Force’s modernization efforts, operational preparedness, and focus on technological innovation and human resource development. He also underscored Pakistan’s readiness to support capability development of the Libyan Air Force through professional cooperation.
Lieutenant General Haftar acknowledged Pakistan’s experience and praised the standards of professionalism within the Pakistan Air Force. He conveyed Libya’s interest in expanding joint training initiatives and military exchanges to strengthen defence relations.
The visit of the Libyan delegation was described as a step toward reinforcing bilateral defence cooperation and promoting sustained engagement between Pakistan and Libya, according to the PAF press release.
