Pakistan Armed Forces reaffirm support for Kashmiris on Kashmir Solidarity Day

RAWALPINDI, Feb 5, 2026 — The Pakistan Armed Forces on Wednesday reiterated their support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, reaffirming their stance on the right to self-determination and condemning alleged human rights violations in the region.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the message was conveyed on behalf of the armed forces by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

The statement expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people and strongly condemned what it described as ongoing human rights violations in IIOJK, including extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions and efforts to alter the region’s demographic and political structure.

The Pakistan Armed Forces emphasized that a lasting and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains essential for peace and stability in South Asia. The statement reiterated Pakistan’s position that the dispute should be resolved in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

The armed forces also called on the international community to take meaningful steps to address the humanitarian situation in IIOJK and to help ease the suffering of the Kashmiri population.

Reaffirming their constitutional responsibility, the statement said the Pakistan Armed Forces remain committed to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while maintaining solidarity with the Kashmiri people in their pursuit of freedom and dignity.
