During the meeting, the delegation briefed UDA officials on multiple problems faced by residents and submitted a written list of demands. These included the early completion of the township’s boundary wall and entry gate, action against illegal offices, shops and shopping centres operating from residential houses, regular garbage collection from roadside dustbins and measures to control the growing stray dog population.
The council also raised concerns over the condition of roads following gas pipeline installation, demanding immediate restoration and asphalt work. Rahim Shah Khan further called for naming township roads after nationally respected personalities, making allotted health centres functional, repairing or replacing faulty electricity transformers, and ensuring police action against incidents of one-wheeling.
Additional demands included the removal of illegal shops and encroachments along the approach road, establishment of a Rural Health Centre (RHC) hospital and a government school, immediate repair of the approach road, and construction of a boundary wall around the local graveyard.
The delegation clarified that it does not support the establishment of a Cantonment Board in the area and instead seeks township development through coordination with UDA Swat.
UDA officials listened to the concerns and assured the delegation that the issues raised would be addressed in a phased manner, in line with available resources and planning priorities.
