RAWALPINDI, Feb 25, 2026 — Thirty-four militants were killed in a series of intelligence-based operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday. The military described the actions as part of a sustained campaign against militant groups operating in border and tribal districts.
The statement said 26 militants were killed in four separate engagements in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 24. Eight others were killed in Sambaza, Zhob District, Balochistan.
In the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan, security forces detected and engaged a group attempting to infiltrate from across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. One militant was killed in that exchange and was identified as an Afghan national, according to the military.
Additional intelligence-led operations were conducted in Lakki Marwat, where three militants were killed, and in Bannu’s Narmi Khel area, where 10 were eliminated. In Mir Ali, North Waziristan, forces killed 12 militants during another engagement.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the sites of the operations, ISPR said, adding that the militants had allegedly been involved in attacks in the region.
The military said clearance and sanitization operations remain underway. The broader campaign is being conducted under the national strategy “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved under the National Action Plan framework.
Officials stated that security operations will continue to address militant activity and secure affected districts.
