IMCTC secretary general Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi meets Pakistan army chief Syed Asim Munir at GHQ

Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, Major General Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, met Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on February 2, 2026.

Officials said the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on evolving regional security dynamics and strengthening counter-terrorism cooperation between Pakistan and IMCTC member states.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir acknowledged IMCTC’s role in promoting coordinated counter-terrorism initiatives. Major General Al-Moghedi, in turn, highlighted Pakistan’s extensive experience in counter-terrorism operations and commended the operational readiness of its armed forces.

The discussions concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding institutional cooperation for regional peace and stability.

The IMCTC delegation is in Pakistan from February 2 to 6, 2026, to conduct a week-long training programme at the National University of Sciences and Technology on the reintegration and rehabilitation of extremist elements.
