The Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court on Tuesday visited the District Courts in Mardan to review judicial facilities, inaugurate development projects, and assess measures aimed at improving the administration of justice.
The chief justice was accompanied by Justice Faheem Wali and his Personal Staff Officer, Adil Majeed. Upon arrival, they were received by District and Sessions Judge Nasrullah Khan Gandapur, Senior Civil Judge (Administration) Omar Azmat Khan, along with senior officials from the district administration, police, and prosecution department.
Court infrastructure and bar facilities inaugurated
During the visit, the chief justice inaugurated the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of six new courtrooms at the Khanzana premises. He later visited the District Bar Association, where he inaugurated the Bar Room Library and addressed members of the legal fraternity.
In his address, the chief justice emphasized the importance of the rule of law and called for close coordination between the bar and the district judiciary to ensure the expeditious disposal of long-pending cases.
Review of judicial operations
The chief justice also inspected the Summons and Warrants Cell and issued instructions to further improve efficiency and service delivery. He later visited the Sessions Court and reviewed the newly established District Courts Malkhana.
A meeting with the district administration followed, attended by the commissioner, deputy commissioner, regional police officer, district police officer, SP Investigation, and district public prosecutor. The meeting focused on inter-departmental coordination and effective administration of justice.
Meeting with judicial officers
Later, the chief justice held a detailed meeting with judicial officers of District Mardan. District and Sessions Judge Nasrullah Khan Gandapur presented a briefing on case statistics, disposal ratios, and the overall performance of the district judiciary.
Addressing the officers, the chief justice stressed strict adherence to the rule of law and underscored the need for prompt, transparent, and quality disposal of cases.
At the conclusion of the visit, souvenirs were presented to the chief justice, Justice Faheem Wali, and the PSO. The chief justice and accompanying officials departed after the meeting and lunch.
