TIMERGARA, Feb 6: Medical Superintendent of Timergara Teaching Hospital, Dr Bakhtzada Akhunzada, paid a surprise visit to the Emergency Department and Outpatient Department (OPD) on Thursday to review medical facilities, patient care, and cleanliness arrangements.

During the visit, the MS inspected various wards and interacted with patients and their attendants to obtain first-hand information regarding treatment services, availability of medicines, and staff behaviour. Patients also highlighted certain issues, which Dr Akhunzada noted and addressed on the spot.

The medical superintendent instructed doctors, nursing staff, and other hospital employees that negligence in patient care would not be tolerated. He stressed that every patient must be provided timely, quality, and respectful medical services, particularly in the Emergency and OPD, where immediate attention is critical.

Dr Akhunzada emphasised that doctors must perform their professional duties with honesty, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility to ensure patient satisfaction and safety.

He also placed special emphasis on cleanliness across the hospital and directed the relevant staff to maintain high hygiene standards in wards, emergency areas, and waiting halls to ensure a clean and healthy environment for patients and their attendants.

Concluding the visit, Dr Bakhtzada Akhunzada said the hospital administration was committed to providing the best possible healthcare facilities to the public and warned that strict action would be taken against any negligence.
