RAWALPINDI: Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) in Rawalpindi on Thursday, accompanied by senior ministers as part of his official trip to Pakistan. He was received by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who briefed the delegation on the facility’s operations.
During the tour, the Uzbek delegation was introduced to GIDS’ portfolio of advanced defence systems, industrial projects, and technological innovations. Officials showcased Pakistan’s progress in indigenous defence manufacturing and industrial development.
The visit reflected the shared resolve of Pakistan and Uzbekistan to expand cooperation in defence, technology, and industry. Both sides underlined the importance of joint ventures, knowledge-sharing, and strengthening bilateral ties.
