Security forces conduct operations in Balochistan following militant attacks as officials report casualties and ongoing surveillance.

Rawalpindi, January 25, 2026 — Pakistan’s security forces on Saturday carried out an intelligence-based operation in Panjgur District, killing three militants linked to an Indian proxy group, the military’s media wing said.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operation was launched following credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area. Security forces engaged the suspects during the operation, leading to an exchange of fire.

ISPR said three militants were killed in the encounter, including Farooq alias Soro, identified as a local commander, along with Adeel and Waseem. The militants were reportedly involved in multiple attacks and subversive activities in the region.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the site, the statement added.

The military said follow-up sanitisation operations are ongoing to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining militants.

According to ISPR, the operation was conducted as part of Pakistan’s broader counter-terrorism drive under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework, approved by the Federal Apex Committee as part of the National Action Plan. The campaign aims to counter threats posed by foreign-sponsored militancy and strengthen internal security across the country.
