Dera Ismail Khan: The foundation stone for the new building of Agriculture University Dera Ismail Khan was laid today in a ceremony led by former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, marking the formal commencement of the university’s construction project.

Government allocates land and funds for campus development

The event highlighted that although academic activities at the Agriculture University have been ongoing for several years, students have faced challenges due to the lack of a permanent campus and essential facilities. The provincial government has allocated 400 kanals of land for the university and released millions of rupees for construction and infrastructure development. Additionally, buses, coasters, and other vehicles have been provided to support campus operations.

Agriculture University leaders highlight benefits of new campus

Vice Chancellor Agriculture University Professor Dr. Shakeebullah expressed gratitude for the government’s support, stating that the new campus would lead to increased admissions, provide modern facilities for students, and further enhance teaching standards. He noted that the university’s students are already gaining recognition at both national and international levels, reflecting the institution’s performance.

Former CM emphasizes focus on quality teaching

Former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, while addressing the ceremony, emphasized that the promotion of education depends not only on infrastructure but also on quality teaching. He assured that educational activities would continue uninterrupted during the construction of the new campus, and the graduation of students from various departments would serve as a practical example of a modern educational model’s success.

Endowment fund announced to support universities

He also announced the establishment of a one-billion-rupee endowment fund to support financially weaker universities in the province. Under this initiative, ten universities will receive annual financial assistance to help them become self-sufficient. Gandapur stated that these measures will play a vital role in raising the standard of higher education across the province.
