Islamabad — Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB) I-8/3 celebrated its Annual Sports Week on Monday with vibrant ceremonies and enthusiastic participation by students, highlighting the importance of physical fitness, discipline and sportsmanship in academic life.
Distinguished Guests Grace the Opening Ceremony
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director of the Inter Board Coordination Committee (IBCC), who attended the ceremony as chief guest. Other notable participants included Fiaz Nadeem, Director Training Islamabad; prominent social and political figure Sajid Abbasi, Chairman Vegetable Market Islamabad; Madam Nilofar; and principals of various Islamabad model colleges.
Formal Proceedings Mark a Disciplined Start
Proceedings of Annual Sports Week began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by Naat and the national anthem. Students presented a well-coordinated march past in honor of the chief guest, reflecting discipline and team spirit. Dr. Mallah, accompanied by Director Model Colleges and Principal IMCB I-8/3 Shahid Mahmood Abbasi, formally inaugurated the Sports Week by lighting the ceremonial torch.
Students Showcase Talent and Competitive Spirit at Annual Sports Week
Students from junior and senior classes took part in a wide range of sports and recreational competitions, displaying energy, skill and healthy rivalry. The release of colorful balloons added to the festive atmosphere, drawing applause from teachers and guests alike.
Principal Emphasizes Role of Sports in Education
Addressing the gathering, Principal Shahid Mahmood Abbasi lauded the students’ performance and commended the efforts of the teaching staff in organizing the event. He stressed that sports are essential for the physical and mental development of students and help instill discipline, leadership and confidence.
Cash Prize and Prayers Mark a Memorable Conclusion
At the closing ceremony of Annual Sports Week, the chief guest announced a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for the winning team, a gesture that was warmly appreciated by the students. The event concluded with prayers for the success and prosperity of the institution and its students.
