SWAT: Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch, has said that Islamic seminaries are strong bastions of Islam and play a vital role in preserving the religion, safeguarding ideological boundaries, and promoting moral training in society.
Address at Sahih al-Bukhari completion ceremony
Speaking at a ceremony marking the completion of Sahih al-Bukhari at Jamia Darul Uloom Haqqania in Swat, he noted that corruption, inflation, and injustice have created severe challenges for ordinary citizens.
He said that in such circumstances, the participation of seminary students in promoting Islam and societal reform is a positive and encouraging development.
Islamic seminaries as centers of character building
Liaqat Baloch added that Islamic seminaries are not only centers of religious education but also institutions for character building, unity of the Ummah, and advocacy of truth, and that their graduates are valuable assets for the nation.
The event also included speeches by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Swat Hamid-ul-Haq, Deputy Ameer Akhtar Ali Khan, and former National Assembly member and Deputy Ameer Dr. Fazal Subhan, who highlighted the importance of religious education and moral values.
Certificates and books were distributed among graduates and position holders at the conclusion of the ceremony, and participants reaffirmed their commitment to religious and national unity.
