Officials said the exercise is designed to improve inter-agency coordination by bringing together stakeholders from shipping, fisheries, law enforcement, government institutions, and the private sector to address complex maritime security threats.
As part of the exercise, participants will take part in scenario-based activities and tabletop discussions aimed at strengthening response mechanisms for maritime protection along Pakistan’s coastline. The briefing also highlighted the role of the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre in enhancing coordination and real-time information sharing.
Addressing the participants, Vice Admiral Faisal Amin commended the collaborative approach adopted for the exercise and emphasised the need for sustained cooperation to safeguard national maritime interests. He also recognised the media’s contribution in promoting maritime awareness.
Officials of the Pakistan Navy, senior representatives of government bodies, and members of the private and fishing sectors were present at the opening ceremony.
