PAF strengthens global airpower ties at Dubai Airshow 2025

ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, held high-level meetings with senior UAE defence officials and Air Chiefs from participating countries during the Dubai Airshow 2025, focusing on enhanced airpower cooperation and aviation partnerships.

Talks Focus on Training, Operations and Technology Collaboration

According to Pakistan Air Force (PAF), discussions centred on strengthening military ties through expanded training programmes, operational collaboration and cooperation in emerging aerospace technologies.

Leadership Meets UAE Defence Officials at Dubai Airshow

During his visit, the Air Chief met with Lieutenant General Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, Undersecretary of Defence UAE, and Major General Rashid Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Commander UAE Air Force & Air Defence. Both sides reviewed the regional security environment and reaffirmed their intent to deepen bilateral defence cooperation, including joint exercises and professional exchanges. The UAE leadership acknowledged PAF’s ongoing modernization efforts and expressed interest in increased collaboration in air and technical domains.

JF-17 Block-III and Super Mushshak Represent PAF at the Even

A PAF contingent is also participating in the Dubai Airshow 2025, featuring the JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter aircraft and the Super Mushshak trainer. The JF-17 Block-III attracted considerable attention from aviation analysts and defence delegations due to its latest avionics, weapons integration and multirole capability.

MoU Signed for JF-17 Procurement by a Friendly Country

PAF confirmed that an MoU was signed with a friendly country for the procurement of the JF-17 Thunder. The agreement is seen as part of Pakistan’s growing defence industry footprint in the international market.

Strategic Outreach Highlights Commitment to Airpower Development

The Air Chief’s meetings alongside the PAF aircraft display highlight Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to expand international airpower cooperation and strengthen defence partnerships through technological exchange and aviation collaboration.
