Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf met Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad on February 2, 2026.
Officials said the talks covered regional maritime security developments and reviewed avenues for strengthening cooperation in defence and training. The meeting formed part of broader efforts to enhance professional ties between the two navies.
Lieutenant General Haftar commended the Pakistan Navy’s contribution to maritime security and regional peace. Both leaders expressed their resolve to expand the scope of bilateral defence cooperation and maintain regular engagement.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to closer collaboration in support of shared security objectives, according to the navy’s media wing.
