Pakistan–Nepal defence ties highlighted during Nepal Army delegation visit to CASS

Pakistan–Nepal defence and academic cooperation came into focus as the Centre for Aerospace & Security Studies hosted a visiting delegation from the Army Command and Staff College Nepal in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The discussions centred on the changing nature of warfare, the growing relevance of aerospace security, and the need for sustained regional dialogue on emerging security challenges.

Addressing the delegation, CASS President Javaid Ahmed highlighted the strength of Pakistan–Nepal relations, describing them as rooted in mutual respect and long-standing cooperation. He underscored close professional ties between the armed forces of both countries, supported by regular exchanges and institutional collaboration.

He also noted the shared commitment of Pakistan and Nepal to regional cooperation through platforms such as SAARC, aimed at advancing collective peace and stability in South Asia.

During the visit, CASS experts presented insights from ongoing research and outlined major trends shaping future aerospace and defence capabilities. The subsequent interactive session addressed contemporary conflict environments, technological advancements, and regional security developments.

The meeting concluded with discussions on expanding cooperation between CASS and the Nepal Army Command and Staff College, including academic engagement, research collaboration, and capacity-building initiatives.
