UPPER DIR: The 58th founding anniversary of Pakistan People’s Party was celebrated in Dir city and several other areas of the district, including Sheringal, Bibiwod, and Wadi, under the auspices of Peoples Youth City Dir.
Pakistan People’s Party workers mark anniversary across Dir
Addressing the gathering, Tehsil Dir President Muhammad Ismail said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto founded the party in extremely challenging circumstances and traveled across the country, including Dir. He said that when the PPP came to power, Bhutto made Pakistan a strong voice in the Islamic world.
Leaders recall Bhutto’s contributions to national progress
He added that Bhutto gave the country a unanimous constitution and introduced identity cards and passports for the poor. As a result, people were able to travel to the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, and Libya, improving their financial conditions and building better futures for their families.
Party leaders highlight sacrifices and ongoing challenges
Peoples Youth President Asghar Ali, Nizamuddin, and Javed Iqbal Advocate said that Bhutto and his family were martyred for the sake of the nation. They said those who once earned respect through the PPP are now speaking against it, but despite challenges, the party’s workers remain steadfast.
Resolution calls for reorganization of PPP leadership
Nizamuddin presented a resolution urging President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to dissolve the Central Executive Committee and reorganize the party nationwide.
Javed Iqbal said the Pakistan People’s Party implemented its manifesto in a short time, brought development across the country, and united the Muslim Ummah in Lahore. He added that the party’s performance remains noteworthy and that the PPP has always been a force for the people.
The anniversary celebrations concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony.
