Officers from the Wafaqi Mohtasib regional offices in Abbottabad, Swat, Dera Ismail Khan and Peshawar attended the event. Qureshi said the institution had expanded its outreach and strengthened its operations due to the efforts of its officers and staff.

He noted that the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat had settled complaints valued at Rs 9.46 billion during the current year. More than 242,000 complaints had been addressed so far, with the total expected to exceed 250,000 by year’s end.

New performance awards introduced within Secretariat

The ceremony marked the first time that performance-based awards were introduced in the organization’s history. According to officials, the awards aim to promote healthy competition and improved service delivery across the organization’s network.

A committee of senior officers developed a merit-based evaluation system to determine award recipients. The criteria included the number of complaints resolved, findings issued, Khuli Katcheries held and inspection visits conducted.

Officials urged to maintain public trust

Qureshi encouraged regional officers to continue working with dedication to ensure that the Wafaqi Mohtasib retains public confidence as a grievance redressal body. He said consistent performance was essential to sustaining the institution’s credibility.
