Plantation is a form of ongoing charity, and if we truly want to express our love for the country, every citizen should plant at least one sapling so that future generations can benefit from it and we may also earn its reward. These views were expressed by Vice Chancellor Women University Swabi, Professor Dr Ghazala Yasmin, while addressing a plantation drive organized at the university.

She said that environmental pollution and climate change are among the major challenges faced by the world today, and the most effective solution to these problems is large-scale tree plantation. Educational institutions can play a key role in this regard, as the future direction of society is shaped by the generations graduating from these institutions.

On the occasion, Commissioner Mardan Division Mr Javed Marwat, Deputy Commissioner Swabi Dr Tariqullah, Assistant Commissioner Swabi Dr Aleena Shakeel Nagra, and Additional Assistant Commissioner Topi Dr Yameen Sana were also present.

While addressing the ceremony, Commissioner Mardan Division Javed Marwat said that trees are not only a source of environmental beauty but also a guarantee of human health and survival. He added that along with government institutions, the general public must also actively participate in plantation campaigns to reduce the negative impacts of climate change.

Deputy Commissioner Swabi Dr Tariqullah said that various plantation projects have been launched by the government in District Swabi, in which educational institutions are being given special importance. He emphasized that involving the young generation in environmentally friendly activities is one of the most important needs of the time.

Assistant Commissioner Swabi Dr Aleena Shakeel Nagra said that trees act as natural filters and help protect the earth from pollution. She added that if every individual commits to planting one sapling, the outlook of our cities can change within a few years.

Additional Assistant Commissioner Topi Dr Yameen Sana said that plantation should not be treated as a one-time campaign but as a permanent national attitude. She stressed that along with planting trees, their proper care is equally important so that they can grow into strong and healthy trees.

At the end of the ceremony, students enthusiastically planted various saplings, while all the guests also practically participated in the plantation activity. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Ghazala Yasmin, along with faculty members, also planted saplings in the university campus and reaffirmed their commitment to environmental protection.
